My little car got broken into while I was on holidays

I got a phone call while I was away, from a lady telling me my car had been broken into. She tracked me down from my name to weta. People are nice in NZ.
Well, except the burglars of course.
They took the first aid kit and my Springhealth boxing gloves....

Ivan and his cousins came to rescue it. They taped the broken window and picked up all the loose stuff.
it is awesome to have people you can trust like this.

My birthday present to myself

After Queenstown with the snowboarding and all the work friends I chose to spend a bit of time on my own. As a self recovery trip. To reset myself and have time to think about me and life.
My first plan was to drive around the South Island but I needed warmth and sea, so I ended up in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. In the middle of the Pacific, a tropical paradise. Exactly like a postcard... a place to feel alive and experience the world in style and a little luxury. At least once in my life.

I felt re-energised and happy after.
I went back to wellington, landed on my birthday, and spent the day fixing the broken window in my car.
All of that didn't matter. The next day at work I had a birthday surprise from my friends. Unexpected but very welcomed, after the first few minutes of terror.... when you are on the other side of the world, your friends are your family.
And I am a very lucky woman.

Snowboarding trip pt3 Queenstown, South Island

Last year I missed the snow trip to Queenstown with the guys, but this year I managed. I ended up sleeping in the living room, the bed was awful, but still, it was really nice to be with friends, have a few more snowboarding lessons and do some sightseeing.

And not to be at work!

Snowboarding trip pt2 Turoa, North Island

My second snowboarding trip.
Jules, Markus and I just decided to jump in the car on a saturday after work and drive up north to Turoa, where we stayed at the quaintest B&B, very strangely decorated. It was fun to stay there.

Estas lembram-me sempre daquelas bonecas espanholas que todos tinhamos em casa.
Extraordinario!

The next morning we hit the slopes.
Well, the men hit the slopes, I had more snowboarding lessons :)

Someone got sunburned on the slopes.
How?? there was no sun!
That is his own hand

Then we hit the sugar before starting on the way back
Big time!!!
